We are already feeling the impact of climate change right here in Duluth. We cannot wait for action at the state and national level. We need to make every practical effort at the local level to change policies and practices that contribute to climate change. We’ve taken some good first steps – more efficient bulbs in our streetlights, conversion of the downtown steam system to more efficient hot water, and the creation of a city energy commission. But we must do more. The city has the opportunity to take the lead in helping the community as a whole transition to a clean energy future.
